Cheks is designed as a local-first utility for tracking expiry and renewal dates.

Last updated: 7 August 2026

Overview

Cheks is an expiry and renewal tracking app for small business and self-managed professionals. Cheks is designed as a local-first app. Most of the information you enter into Cheks is stored on your device, not on Cheks-operated servers.

Information you enter in the app

Information you enter into Cheks may include item names, expiry dates, renewal dates, reminder settings, notes, reference numbers, renewal costs, billing frequency details, and vehicle or trailer details where relevant. This information is used only to provide the app's tracking, reminder, sorting, filtering, search, archive, duplication, import and export features.

Where your app data is stored

At launch, Cheks stores app data locally on your device. Cheks does not currently require account creation, and Cheks does not currently provide cloud sync or Cheks-hosted backup for app data.

Notifications

Cheks uses local device notifications to remind you about upcoming and overdue expiry or renewal dates. Notification delivery depends on your device settings, app permissions, and operating system behaviour.

CSV import and export

If you use CSV import or export features, the files you import from or export to are handled on your device using the sharing, files, and storage options provided by your device operating system and installed apps.

Payments and purchase data

Pro purchases are processed through the relevant app store and RevenueCat, which Cheks uses for purchase and entitlement management. Cheks does not directly collect or store your full payment card details.

What third parties may process

When you make a purchase, the relevant app store and RevenueCat may process information related to the transaction, purchase status, and entitlement access so your Pro unlock can be recognised and restored where supported.

Analytics and crash reporting

Cheks does not use third-party analytics or crash reporting in the current local-first launch build.

Data selling

Cheks does not sell personal data.

Data deletion

Because Cheks app data is stored locally on your device at launch, you can remove that data by deleting items in the app or uninstalling the app from your device.

If you want to request deletion of data associated with purchase records or customer records handled through purchase providers, you can contact Cheks support at michael@cheks.com.au.

Future features

If Cheks later introduces account-based features, cloud sync, hosted backup, analytics, crash reporting, or other server-side data handling, this policy should be updated before those features are released.
